All you need is … The Beatles

Автор: 03.01.2016 | art
On January, 3 some people still miss the departed year while others feel sorry for the fact that on this very date the legendary Beatles gathered for their last rehearsal. This piece is for the latter ones.

It was 46 years ago sharp when Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison waited for their friend John Lennon in vain. Guitar player didn’t show up for the rehearsal that became the final one for the quartet. The band was living its last days. It is ironic that the break-up of the Liverpool 4 didn’t affect advent of new fans. On the contrary, their number gradually has grown year in and out. And what kinds of things they pull off…

For instance, In Brazil during carnivals fans of the band gather to sing their favorite songs in chorus. They add lively Latin American rhythms to the music. This kind of caroling gathers over 5 thousand people every year. In 2013 the record of 60 thousand participants was set!

Last year in October a very zealous admirer interrupted Paul McCartney’s performance on BBC to… get an autograph. On reception of the precious flourish the man let the musician continue the performance after all. Apropos, sir Paul had no hard feelings for him since, according to the beatle, fans are sacral.

“The Beatles” have always had very special relations with admirers of their talent. The story of Ringo Starr is really something in itself! In 1964 during an American tour the drummer of the ‘insects’ took an accidental picture of the five young men driving a nearby car. Took it and forgot about it. In as many as 50 years the musician was going through his photographs and spotted the picture of the guys. Ringo set his sights on finding those people. It might seem impossible. But thanks to American television it worked out. More to that, they were put in a car and taken picture of, as if bringing them back to the past for an instance.

All in all, admirers of the Liverpool 4 talents are so obsessed with the band that they want to share something with their idols no matter what. Sometimes even time extent is what doesn’t matter. Recently the house where John Lennon had lived for 5 years was sold in bidding. The price of the lot constituted 772 thousand dollars. The fact that the residential space’s price didn’t measure up to the market one (it was a couple of times higher, if anything) didn’t disturb the new owner. Love isn’t measured in money equivalent, you know.

American scrip writer Chris McCoy expressed his love to the quartet in a very creative way. He came up with an interesting plot for science-fiction movie. Two main characters use time machine to travel to the past and prevent John Lennon from meeting Yoko Ono. According to moviemakers she is the one to be blamed for the band’s break up. By the way, negotiations on movie production are already in progress.

It is impossible to figure out the number of the successive Beatles mania wave that swept musicians’ home city, Liverpool. According to locals, that many fans have never assembled there even in the years of popularity peak. Companies gather in almost every precinct to sing for the umpteenth time that “yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away”.

And there is nothing surprising about it for as long as people listen to music, there will be Beatles lovers among them. There is probably no other band to gain such popularity among the public as diverse in status and position. It recently turned out, that even ever-serious and I daresay harsh leader of the North Korea Kim Jong-Il adores “The Beatles"…
