Today on June 3 in Hamburg launched one of the most prestigious festivals of independent short films.
First celebration of small films took place in 1985 under the title No Budget Festival and included movies on which no money was spent. But over time its concept has changed, and now the competition program includes more than 400 films both low-budget and with impressive initial investments.
The event brings together short films from 3 to 30 minutes long. Among the nominations of Hamburg festival are International Competition, Nobudget Competition, German Competition, Hamburg Competition, Three Minute Quickie Competition, as well as a special program Mo & Friese for children aged from 4 to 14. In addition the festival holds workshops where kids learn to make movies.
In Hamburg one can see temporary Germany short film, creations of film schools students and of those self-taught. This year's event will be the 29th festival and will last until June 9.
