Random Acts of Kindness Day

Автор: 17.02.2018
Random Acts of Kindness Day is non-official international holiday celebrated annually in different organizations all over the world while in New Zealand it happens on all-national level.

Random act of kindness means self-denying action done to encourage an individual or group of people or give them an adequate help. It is considered that this term was invented by American writer Ann Herbert. In the meantime, the author of holiday is New Zealander Josh de Jong.

In New Zealand people decided to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day on the 1-st of September, in the first day of the spring. However, the Fund of Random Acts of Kindness offered the date of the 17-th of February while all the previous week was claimed as the Week of Random Acts of Kindness.

How to celebrate this day? It is so simple. Just do something good to the people around you not waiting for anything in return. This is a wonderful reason to recall about the meaning of such words as ‘mercy’, ‘kind-heartedness’, and ‘unselfishness’, make charitable acts or dedicate youself to volunteer activity. Please, don’t stop after the end of the 17-th of February!
