For the first time a bicyclist reached the North Pole

Russian Bogdan Bulychev reached the northernmost point of the planet and set two world records: first, he reached the North Pole by bicycle, and secondly, he managed to make the fastest bicycle trip around the world in history as he coped with this task for 48 seconds.

An important event for the entire cycling community took place the 17-th of April at 7 pm.

Bulychev went to the North Pole as part of an expedition organized by the Russian Geographical Society. The journey began on the 14-th of April with the drifting ice station of Barneo. Before the coveted point had to travel to several modes of transport, 10 final kilometers on the ice of the Arctic Ocean, the traveler passed by bicycle. He was not prevented by magnetic anomalies, squally wind, or lack of oxygen.

The achievements of Bogdan Bulychev will be recorded in the Guinness Book of Records, the Book of Records of Russia and the Book of Records of Europe.
