Anfistory in Cyprus

Feast of flowers, Anfestiria, is dedicated to those plants that grow in Cyprus. On this small island there are about two thousand species of various plants, of which about 150 are endemic, that is, those that grow only in Cyprus. This is, first of all, wild orchids, chamomiles, wild tulips, gladioli, lilies, irises, peonies. In the gardens grow bushy roses and bright oleanders. In the mountains, at the foot of monasteries and churches, the flower symbols of Cyprus - alpine violets, anemones and chamomiles grow. According to legend, these flowers were born from tears born in the coastal region of Cyprus by Aphrodite and the blood of her beloved Adonis, the son of the king of Cyprus Kinir.

Today, Anfestria is one of the most beloved and exciting holidays, both among the Cypriots themselves and among tourists.
