In Havana International Cigar Festival starts

Usually there are more than 600 producers, exporters, collectors, and simply devotees of the famous tobacco from 47 countries participating in the festival. The program of five-day event includes exhibitions, concerts, discussions, and presentations. That is all about Cubin cigars. Different contests and auctions of tobacco products are held.

Guests are offered to travel at tobacco processing plants and plantations, and have possibility to join workshops on various topics, from the cigarette-producing skills and art of smoke enjoyment to counterfeit detection.

The program provides the lunch during which astonishing wines are given with definite kinds of cigarettes. Traditionally at the festival recent specialties and elite trademarks of Cubin cigarettes are presented, such as Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Juleta, Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, H.Upmann.

For many years, Fidel Castro has a habit to arrive at the festival.

In 2001, Cuba had produced 153 million cigarettes for export. At least, 70% of Cubin cigar exports are intended for European market. As it is known, cigarettes produced at Cuba rank among the most expensive ones in the world. That is why people attracted by cigarettes are waiting for the week of sophisticated delight and special fascination with the best cigars and tobacco!
