A citizen of the Czech Republic, the member of the libertarian political party Vít Jedlička established the state at the border between Serbia and Croatia Free Republic Liberland and declared himself the president of it.

«The Preparatory Committee invested the president with authority to send diplomatic memorandum with the help of about the state apparition not only to the nearest countries, but also to United Nations and all over the world», Jedlička reported in press release.

The total area of the state is about six square kilometres entwined between Serbia and Croatia which, according to Jedlička’s acclamation, do not lay claim to this territory, as Prague Express informs.

The motto of Liberland sounds as «To live and let live».

«The objective of the founders of the new state is to build a country where honest people can prosper without being oppressed by governments making their lives unpleasant through the burden of unnecessary restrictions and taxes. The founders are inspired by countries such as Monaco, Liechtenstein or Hong Kong», Jedlička stated.

According to him, he has already received dozen inquiries about the citizenship of Liberland. The reason for its acceptance is the following: a person should not be communist, Nazi or other extremist.
