United Nations has made additions to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic and esteblished that automatically controlled vehicles are allowed, provided that the driver can stop them at any time , according to Euromag, citing OE24.
Germany, France, Italy , Austria , Belgium voted for such changes.
According to the Convention of 1968 , the driver must control his vehicle no matter what was it- auto or horse-drawn carriages .
Experts predict that mass production of fully automated transport will become a reality in 2020 , but the driver in a car will still need to keep his hands on the wheel.
In recent years, active work on the creation of such a vehicle are realized by many large corporations . So , Mercedes last year has tested a fully automated S-Klasse on a distance of 100 km from Mannheim to Pforzheim . The test was successful , the car passed all obstacles with the help of cameras, sensors and radars.
