Twerk Dance entered Oxford Dictionary

On Thursday, the compilers of Oxford English Dictionary added there nearly 500 words among which there is a name of inflammatory dance «twerk» and the concept «twitterati», as RIA Novosti reports.
Twerk is described in the dictionary as «dance in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements». In opinion of the originators, firstly this concept was used in 1820.
Twitterati defines rather active users of social media – such as Twitter.
Among other updatings there are words «E-cigarette» (firstly used in 2007), webisode (a small video-sketch from the series), The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS, the spouse of the President of USA). Firstly the concept FLOTUS was used with regards to Nancy Reagan.
The compilers added the word sext — the text message or image of frivolous manner. The authors of the dictionary implies that in the 16-th century the stated word was used exceptionally in religious context – it meant the prayer in the middle of the day, the fourth of the canonical hours. The liguists payed attention to the concept «freegan» — related to the people who clamour against consumerism and use food from junkyards and trash containers.
