It is the first time for 100 years when a singular jewel is to be sold

The jewel Hope Spinel which used to be a part of valuable set of Hope will go under the hummer at the price of 273 075 euro that is twenty times more than its cost during the last sale in 1917. It is the first time since the moment of its purchase at the price of 1 447 euro converted into current money, the jewel will be presented to the public by auction house Bonhams.

The sale of dark-pink jewel has already been called as the most expected event in the jewelry world this year due to its prominent history. Coming into the famous collection of jewels of Henry Philip Hope, it became a subject of familial arguments inside the family and was sold by the rave player so as to discharge a debt when, eventually, came to lady Mount Stephen, the friend of Queen Maria.

Besides that, as British edition «The Telegraph», the jewel is the twin-element for the famous blue diamond owned by King Louis the Fourteenth.

The auction will be held in London on the 24-th of September.
