Greece is to raise fees twice to get access for landmarks

The country authority claims that current charges for the attendance of sites known worldwide such as Acropolis are «unacceptably low». The new prices will become twice bigger than previous ones.
For example, Acropolis entrance fee is planned to increase from twelve to twenty euro. Federal Tourism Agency is afraid of tourists outflow; however, official authority claims that growing price had been waiting for a long time ago, as The Telegraph reports.
According to the information of the Ministry of culture, the new prices will have come into effect at the beginning of 2016. Besides that, two hundred state museums will also increase the cost of entrance fees. Free-of-charge entrance for unemployed Greeks will be preserved.
The new rates will have been acting in a time period from April to November, 2016. For the rest part of year the discount at 50% will be offered for the same services. In such a way the government would like to earn additional ten billion euro.
