Amsterdam Tattoo Convention
This show takes place in the city of freedom for the tenth time. Traditionally the event attracts many famous artists from New Zealand, Japan, Europe, the USA and other parts of the globe, to present their achievements and trends in this field of art.
Amsterdam gained title of the tattoo world capital in 2010 when it opened its first museum of drawings on the skin. The town has plenty of shops for tattoo artists and various parlours where people can have their body inked designs made immortal. In recent years the Dutch surprised the world with a revolutionary brand-new way of preserving tattoos.
One of the participants of the festival will be a unique Dutch businessman and also an owner of the tattoo parlour Peter van der Helm, who organized some new kind of business. It offers tattooed people to bequeath their skin with drawings for centuries. This service costs a few hundred dollars, van der Helm promises personally to remove pictures from the body after death and to be responsible for their safety. Up to now 30 people have agreed to leave a legacy for their tattoos.
