The biggest ship of Vikings will start Atlantic trip

Автор: 19.05.2016
Swiss captain of ship called in honor of Harald Fairhair, king who in X century united Norway initially planned to begin trip this Sunday. However, the start of travel was postponed because of a bad weather.

As The Local writes, the ship will go in the footsteps of Leif Erikson, Scandinavian navigator who, as it is believed, found out America five centuries before Christopher Columbus.

The trip will have taken for a month, and his route will tread across Iceland, Greenland, Canada, and, all in all, United States of America. ‘Harald Fairhair’ is equipped with modern navigation system, as well as historical attributes of sea trips such as loglines, magnet and solar compasses.

The eye-catching ship in length of 35 meters, width of 8 meters, and mast height of 24 meters is the biggest boast of Vikings in the world among those built in our days.
