Автор: 02.03.2018
The Federal Administrative Court of Germany in Leipzig ruled that the authorities of German cities have the right to independently impose a ban on the movement of cars with diesel engines in order to protect the air from pollution.

Specifically, in this decision two cities - Stuttgart and Dusseldorf are mentioned.

The document also states that for the application of this right, there is no need to confirm the powers of the European Court.
The German Federal Government continues to oppose the ban on restricting the movement of cars with diesel engines.

Earlier Volkswagen concern accused the US of equipping diesel cars with software that underestimates real emissions of harmful substances.

The US government ordered the concern to recall 482,000 cars of Volkswagen and Audi brands sold in the country in 2009-2015. Volkswagen agreed to buy out the car from consumers and pay compensation to them.
