In Amsterdam International festival of marijuana is opened

International festival of hemp «Cannabis Cup» is being held during several days in the end of November in Amsterdam.

The initiator of the holiday is American magazine «High Times», which nowadays annually organizes the festival of Autumn harvest of marijuana. Due to its efforts, Amsterdam was able to implement the fact absolutely impossible in «free» America.

At the festival, there is observation of the recent achievements in scope of marijuana planting. International jury defines the best product by countless samplings. Awards are given in the five categories: the best coffee shop, the best bang, the best product of hemp proceeding (for example, hemp bitter), the best bush planted in greenhouse, and the best kind of marijuana.

Type, aroma, taste of product, and effect made by it is evaluated. The winner is granted with passing golden cup. The samplings are accompanied with the concerts and parties. The number of judges is limited by two thousand, so the applications should be given as soon as possible. The experienced judge has an ability to taste up to 10 types of «gear», saving the possibility to think and move. During the festival numerous and quite often commercial events are held on the topic of cannabis.

In the Netherlands only soft drugs are legalized, which do not cause physical dependence – marijuana and some growing psychedelics (for instance, psilocin mushrooms, and mescaline cactus peyote). They are usually sold in coffee shops. In any coffee shop it is expressly prohibited to use hard drugs and alcohol, it is not allowed to come for individuals under 18.

Mushrooms and peyote are sold in smart-shops – little stores existing with the motto Grow Your Own, where besides that you may buy all necessary things for home-planted grass, mushrooms, cactuses, and also different planting substitute of Extazy, LSD, and other forbidden drugs.

New Van Dyke in Amsterdam is the street mostly overcrowded with coffee-shops, stores, and usual cafes. If you wish to reach it, you have to go from the main square Dam along the Damrak Street and turn left in the first alley. Here you may spend the whole day, hitting the shops unassumingly, eating pizzas, hamburgers, and other food, walking, chatting with friends in Internet-cafes, and when you feel that fed up with it – come to the nearest coffee-chop and ask for a menu.
