Menton Lemon Festival at French Riviera hundreds of thousands of visitors gather during this holiday.
It is held annually at the end of February – beginning of March and continues a little bit more than two weeks. Lemons from Menton, obviously, are the kings among lemons: the warm climate of French Riviera allows growing them all year round. Three lemon harvests are taken, and the greatest yield is considered to fall into March-April. Festival was launched as the preparation to the richest prolific season in Menton. For arrangement of the stated holiday 130 tons (!) of the most delicious citrus fruits.
Menton is decorated with incredible figures made from lemons, oranges, and grapefruits. For several days, there are orange castles, fairy-tale characters, and huge edible trees! Along the coast, corteges’ parade of golden fruits adorned with citrus fruits and flowers. Everybody who wants are offered to taste new sorts of lemons, drinks and sweets, prepared from «yellow king of holiday». Every year from 200 to 230 thousand tourists attend this glorious and «delicious» show.
Masks, dances, and traditional music penetrate the carnival in Limoux, small and cozy city on the South of France. The carnival has been lasting for three month. Indeed, the performances are at the weekends.
