Sample of Churchill’s blood is tendered

The ampoule with blood sample belonged to ex-prime minister of Great Britain Winston Churchill is tendered.

The estimated value of lot compounds 400-800 euro.

Blood sample was taken from 87-year-old Churchill in 1962 in London hospital where he got through therapy after hip fracture in Monte-Carlo.

There were plans to diminish the ampoule; however, the nurse, student Patricia Fitzgibbon had asked to give her the sample. Fitzgibbon had been saving the stated ampoule for the whole life. After the death of nurse, people decided to set blood sample of Churchill’s for an auction, as Gazeta.ru reports.

«It is impossible to give accurate estimated value to such a unique extract of history», – Timothy Medhurst from the auction house Duke’s claimed.

As Medhurst said, this year 50-th anniversary of Churchill’s death is marked, and politician’s blood sample reminds about the trauma, which became a beginning of his end. The representative of auction house is expecting for great interest in the lot and do not exclude that the ampoule may be bought for thousands of pounds.

Bidding is to happen on the 12-th of March in Dorset. Earlier it was reported that Internet-auction Picollecta tendered napkin with lip print of former prime minister of Great Britain Margaret Thatcher.
