Beer Holiday in Iceland

The celebration day is not random – this day a legal act on strong beer came into effect – and has been acting in Iceland since 1989. This act repealed «prohibition law» which had been operation for 75 years in the country.
Beer Day is recalled in each bar and restaurant. Besides that, beer festival is held, and among the most active participants students should be mostly outlined – they are drinking foamy beverage in the noisiest thatched pubs of Reykjavik; however, every person who wants to do it may join them.
The bars are open until the morning, and the point is in payment because beer prices are considered as not as cheap. To be more accurate, the prices are the highest ones in the world (more than 10 euro per pint in a bar – in 2008). Well, it must be said, you do not need to waste the first day of March in a bar – there is a great range of numerous festive programs, from races to creation of snow sculptures from snow.
