Teachers Day in the Czech Republic

It is not well-known, but almost four centuries ago this very man decided that studies at schools should begin in September, he divided educational process into lessons, stated that at the end of each year pupils should pass exams. Komensky invented examinations papers and distributed pupils into classes. Today's children are also obliged to the same scientist for having breaks and holidays.
Despite the fact that the Czech Republic is the birthplace of the most delicious beer and noisy celebrations, local representatives of educational profession are endowed with special modesty, so lush festivities are not expected this day.
On the eve of holiday the Ministry of Education is conducting a survey called the Golden Amos. Children are fill in questionnaires, then their responses are processed and on the basis of these data each school selects the best teacher.
As for gifts, the tradition in the Czech Republic is to gives flowers to teachers, not just bought bouquets, but alive compositions created by pupils on their own or with their parents. Each flower composition is arranged in accordance with the character of the beloved mentor.
