Under Stonehenge the giant monument is found out

The monolith samples are found at the depth of 90 centimeters with the help of radar set.
The archeologists suppose that in the ancient time they formed not a circle as Stonehenge but plain line and marked the route of the palmers. «The Telegraph» reports about the discovery.
The finding was made at the place of monument Durrington Walls circled by axle of the settlement of Stonehenge building epoch.
Since XIX century the scientists have been getting surprised that one of the axle sides is stretched in a plane line. Now it emerged that this edge actually makes a single entity with the range from 90 giant stones in a form of a horseshoe. There is every likelihood that these megaliths defined the path of pilgrims to Stonehenge or other ritual construction, as Lenta.ru reports.
«We are looking at one of the largest stone monuments in Europe and it has been under our noses for something like four thousand years. We have not known mineral composition of these stones yet. If heightwise they do not differ from sarsens of Stonehenge, then their essence is highly likely to be the same. We presume it to be a ritual arena of some sort. These things are theatrical… designed to impress», the head of the project Vince Gaffney explained.
The archaeologists discovered that during the longstanding project of digital map-making. The scientists have already defined that Stonehenge is not isolated monument but only a part of a huge complex of sanctuaries, buried mounts, ditches and places of sacrifice. In the suburbs of famous megaliths there are seventeen unknown religious monuments.
With the help of radars, laser scanner and magnetometers constructed in Viennese Institute of Ludwig Boltzmann British scientists created a digital archaeological map of the complex (taking twelve square meters). In a virtual space they removed all the alterations in the landscape taking place for five thousand years since the moment of the first megaliths’ appearance.
