It became the Atomium, created for the World Exhibition in 1958.

Sculpture is a crystal of nine iron atoms, increased by 165 billion times: 102 meters in height and weighing 240 tons. From Atomium there is a beautiful view of the city.
The Atomium was designed by the architect Andre Vaterkane as a symbol of the atomic age and the peaceful use of atomic energy and was built under the guidance of the architects Andre and Michel Polakov.
