Slaughterbeck has noticed that turtles usually cross the road in the same place. Thus, they are often run over by cars, because are nearly invisible and are not able to run quickly.
For the last year, volunteers have saved approximately 300 turtles. It is not mentioned how many animals have become the victims of drivers.
