United Nations announced International Yoga Day
“Announcing the 21-st of June as International Yoga Day, General Assembly has drawn attention to the all-sided benefit of this ancient practice for health and welfare in our modern world”, as it was reported by Ban Ki-Moon.
The head of United Nations marked not only recreational significance of old Indian physical and spiritual practice but also its ability to unite communities and bring mutual respect. “Yoga is the sport that can make contribution in development and reconciliation. Yoga even may encourage people to overcome stress in extreme situations”, general secretary added.
In resolution it is stated that yoga gives “health and well-being complex approach”. General Assembly offered all the states of United Nations as consistent with national traditions to celebrate new Memorial Day in order to raise knowledge of the citizens about yoga’s profit.
The resolution has received the record number of supportive voices – all 175 states represented at General Assembly voted “for” it.
Yoga is the one of the orthodox Hindu directions. In the world this concept is understood wider: it combines totality of psychical and mental practices offered by different scopes of Hindu and Buddhism. Yoga means tendency to manipulate your body, mental activity and physiological functions that is reached due to the special exercises.
