Silver bar found in Indian Ocean could be a part of the trove belonging to one of the legendary pirates, Scotsman William Kidd lived in 17-18 centuries.

The 50 kg bar was discovered in the shipwreck near Nosy Boraha Island next to eastern coast of Madagascar in Indian Ocean, as Russian Service BBC reports.

The president of Madagascar Hery Rajaonarimampianina as well as the authorities from Britain and USA attended the ceremony of delivery of the waif ashore. «Trove» received a serious protection.

In 2007, in the waters of Dominican Republic (eastern part of Haiti in Caribbean Sea) the archaeologists from USA found out the ship of William Kidd. The treasures have not been seen aboard – only the anchors and cannonry, and the jewels, in opinion of historians, had been stolen before the ship went down.

The Captain famed through the legends and literature in reality had not been a successful pirate. In 1695, Captain Kidd received the letter of marque from the British authorities – he was allowed to rob the merchant ships of the hostile states. During five years, he lived on in Caribbean Sea and Indian Ocean, afterwards captured in Indian Ocean the ship of East India Company, dropped it in Caribbean Sea, and then departed to America to cleanse his name from the accusations from British Crown.

Kidd who later had become the prototype of the hero of Robert Louis Stevenson «Treasure Island» was not able to plead his innocence to London. For the murder and assaults on English ships, he was sentenced to death penalty. The creators of the legends and English folk ballades credited him with the plenty of hidden troves and acts of bravery.
