The famous American couturiere, one of the old identities of the fashion in USA, died on Monday in his country home in Kent, Connecticut state.
As it is reported by American edition «New York Times», information about death of fashion designer was confirmed by his spouse, Annette de la Renta. Oscar de la Renta passed away in the age of 82. The reason of death is considered as sequela caused by the cancer.
Fashion designer had been suffering from cancer during recent eight years. Despite that, Oscar de la Renta continued leading active way of life. In this time period, he was able to increase his business in half, and raise the sales level by $150 mln.
The name of fashion designer is traditionally connected with the ceremony of Oscar award. Such actresses as Amy Adams, Sara Jessica Parker, and Penelope Cruz wore his clothes making steps on the red carpet.
