The festival of oysters in Knysnya is one of the most popular events in South Africa attracting not only those who love seafood but also sportsmen and those who search for a great event.

More than one hundred events, beginning from jogging and boat races and finishing with the wine and whisky tasting and compulsory gala concert attract more than 65 thousand spectators annually.

Of course, we cannot forget about the oysters which can be bought at incredibly low prices in any stalls in each of ten festival days.

Knysna is the famous tourist city in Republic of South Africa which is glorious, firstly, because of its beer and oysters. In honor of the latest annually in July there is Knysna Oyster Festival, and this event attracts not only those who love delicacies but also sportsmen.
1948 in South Africa Announced the Start of the Apartheid
On May 26, 1948 in South Africa there was announced about start of apartheid – forced policy of racial separation. Initiator of introduction of such segregation was the ruling National Party of South Africa consisting mainly of white population.
