Finnish researchers who concentrated on the investigation of the north light defined that it is accompanied not only with the great light show but also with specific acoustic fluctuations that can be registered with the help of the specialized equipment.

‘We have made a scrutiny and compared data describing various features of the north light during almost two dozen years, that is why we can talk with the absolute confidence that the polar light has a sound’, claim the authors of investigation, the employees of Aalto University.

The scientists defined that the sound appears in inversion scopes of atmosphere what means approximately at the level of seven-eight thousand meters above the surface of the Earth. In the meantime, the verily north light is made rather higher in eighty – three hundred kilometers over the surface of the planet, as Planet Today reports.

Earlier scientists considered that the sound of north light is the myth. However, now acoustic fluctuations caused by aurora have scientific approval.
