The authorities of Balearic archipelago in Spain (including Majorca, Menorca, and Ibiza) are planning to get rid of the plastic rubbish till 2020.

For that within the territory of the islands the sale and usage of once-daily plastic items will be forbidden. The taboo is spread on the straw, one-use glasses, capsules for coffee machines, and lighters that are impossible to fill repeatedly.

Apart from that, the authorities will demand to have the marking for the personal hygiene products, for example, one-use paper towels so that they could not be put in lavatory but thrown in the rubbish bin.

According to the information of organization Greenpeace, only in the Mediterranean Sea there are almost 1.5 tons of plastic rubbish. It makes up to 75 percent of the rubbish on Spanish beaches. Recently European Union offered a strategy of fight with the plastic rubbish. In compliance with that, till 2030 more than 50 percent of plastic will have been recycled.
