The employees of Seoul authority will ba made to leave work in time on Fridays

The initiative starts from the 30-th of March, will have been lasting for three months. It will be divided into three stages. During the first time, the computers will be switched of at 8 pm. At tge second step that starts in April, on he second and fourth Fridays of month the switching off will happen half an hour earlier, at 7:30. On the third stage in May the computers will be switched off at 7pm every Friday.

In the meantime, as BBC News reports giving reference to the information of authorities of Seoul, 67% of national workers asked not to include them in the program of compulsory switching off computers.

South Korea is one of the countries with the longest working day in the world. According to the information of Economic Trade Organization, in 2016 the average South Korean worked 2069 hours, what was 500 hours more than the average citizen of Western Europe. The national workers in South Korea work even more, nearly 2700 hours a year.

At the beginning of March, parliament of South Korea encouraged reduction of working week in the country from 68 to 52 hours. The novelty will come into effort from July 2018, but on the first stage there will be only companies where not less than 300 people work. For smaller organizations the redundant working week will have introduced step by step by 2021.

With the help of working hours reduction South Korean authorities hope to create more working places, increase the productivity of people and birth rate in the country. According to mass media information, the companies have not supported initiative of the authorities. Several emplpyees criticized that because they are afraid of being decreased in salary as week is reduced.
