An Australian farmer Walter Gruell has tackled strange business – he began producing gold caviar.
The unusual delicacy is made from flocks of gold and dried-up white fish eggs given by sturgeon-albino. The product is sold for 200 000 euro for a kilo.
The gold caviar is the sparse golden powder. It may be used for preparation of gold butter for sandwiches, as long as it could be added in risotto, sauce or soup. It gives an interesting color and original taste to the dish.
Gruell claims that caviar is produced from fishes residing in ecologically pure waters, and edible gold is embedded not only for sake of beauty and cost, but also in order to increase the useful attributes of the product – it is considered that gold fortifies immunity.
