In Great Britain plastic money are incorporated

Five-pound bills are printed by the local commercial bank Clydesdale that has a right to produce its own banknotes.

In total, in it planned to mint nearly two millions of such denominations. The production of plastic money is coincided with 125-year anniversary of the building of Firth of Forth bay bridge. At the banknote the creator of this establishment, engineer William Arrol is depicted.

In 2016, money made from polymeric materials should be incorporated in England. In December 2013, it was stated that at five-pound banknote the former Prime Minister of Great Britain Winston Churchill was to be depicted; and at ten-pound denomination, people were to see the writer Jane Austen, the author of the novel «Pride and Prejudice».

The first plastic banknotes were produced in Australia at the end of 1980-s. Nowadays such money are used in more than twenty countries including Israel, New Zealand, Canada, and China.

Banknotes from polymeric materials are more expensive that those created with paper; herewith, they serve 2.5 times longer because they are not induced by moisture and filth. In average, paper money depending on face amount is intended from 5.5 to 15 years.
