Independence Day in Bangladesh

Автор: 26.03.2018 | Bangladesh
On the 26-th of March, the South Asian Republic of Bangladesh celebrates Independence Day. This date was proclaimed in memory of almost three million people who died in the war for the freedom of their state.

After the collapse of British India in 1947, the country became subordinate to Pakistan. Economic, ethnic and cultural differences have led to the fact that in Bangladesh, riots and a struggle for autonomy began.

On the 26-th of March, 1971, the newly elected authorities declared independence, which led to a war with Pakistan, a victory in which the Bengalis could only be achieved thanks to the active support of India.

Historically, on this day, a number of formal events are taking place in the country, the most interesting of which is the 31 cannon volley that takes place in the morning.
