Lady Gaga visited the homeless children centre

According to the information provided by Guardian on the 6-th of December, the famous singer Lady Gaga visited the centre in New York where LGBT-youth reside who do not have a permanent accommodation.

While visiting Ali Forney centre, Lady Gaga shared with children and young people her own commotion of the spirits as the singer revealed the secret of her suffering because of posttraumatic stress disorder. The illness has been prosecuting her since time when being only nineteen years old the singer became the victim of rape from the side of a man who was twenty years older than her. Lady Gaga confirmed that these events became an ordeal for her and continue influencing her mental conditions till now. Simultaneously, the singer claim that it helped her to look in another way to the people surrounding her who expressed compassion, care, and attention making her fight for her life: ‘The kindness that’s shown to me by doctors as well as my family, and my friends, it’s really saved my life’.

Talking to kids, Lady Gaga gave a speech about courage necessary for everybody who encounters living injustice: ‘I have a mental illness, and I struggle with that mental illness every day. It happens every day, and it’s really scary, and it’s sad. I would like to share the meditation and mantra I use as therapy: you are brave, you are courageous’. Coming from the homeless children centre, Lady Gaga expressed her own opinion to the journalists: ‘These children are not just homeless or in need; many of them are trauma survivors, they have been rejected in some type of way. My own trauma in my life has helped me to understand the trauma of others. It is really important to remind kids who are suffering from a traumatic experience or from abandonment, to remind them that they are not alone, and that they are loved. We are in this together’.
