Astana: Home of perfect sound
The main inspirer of this project was Nursultan Nazarbayev who personally supervised all the stages of its creation - from development of the master plan to decorating. For construction of facilities was engaged the big international team, led by Italian experts and consultants. They succeeded in the "musical tuning" the theater following the best traditions of classical opera houses of Europe thus creating a fantastic acoustics.

The approximate budget was about $ 300 million, part of which was allocated by the state, and another part consisted of private funds. Having visited at least once this temple of art, you know that every cent was spent for purpose. In the Main Auditorium, which seats 1250 people, there is not a single deaf seat: each of them has an angle that allows the sound to reach ears without distortion. The orchestra pit is able to comfortably accommodate 120 musicians. Silent elevator on the stage, other mechanisms and equipment – everything is controlled with just a few buttons. Even construction materials, such as Sicilian marble, Canadian pine, cherry panels used both in laying the foundation, and for finishing in the final stages - all of them work exactly on the acoustics. Not many world art theaters can boast with the same attention to details: famous La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in Madrid, or the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the list seems to be over. Technical capabilities allow Kazakhstan beautiful theater to stage the most modern and technically advanced performances using the 3D format, animation and visual effects.

While speaking of Astana Opera it should be mentioned that for the city, it is much more than just a cultural playground. Such projects give the capital new meanings and codes, initiating around itself a creative space. The staff of the theater, the municipality and ordinary citizens are not just proud of any connection to the object, they are trying in every way to associate themselves with it. Creative studio for children and talented youth operates on the basis of the Opera. This contribution is difficult to overestimate, because now promising Kazakh musicians do not have to go abroad in order to improve their skills, since now they have an operating educational center with best professionals from around the world. Long before the Opera House inauguration, an international jury consisting of luminaries the best opera houses, has been recruiting troupe for the new Opera, primarily focusing on the Kazakh musicians. Thanks to the work done, now visitors enjoy not only the technical innovations of the construction, but also exceptional talents who have passed a rigorous selection and training under the wing of experienced Italian teachers.

In addition to the fact that the theater is very comfortable and functional, pricing policy is no less important - the state arranged that representatives of any segment of the population are able to attend the Opera. Almost all the performances, of both local and foreign theaters on tour, sell tickets at price starting from half dollar, so luxurious hall is usually full. Today the repertoire consists of 18 plays. Of these, there are 10 ballets and 8 operas. In addition, the program of the Chamber hall includes not only concerts for adults but also for children, and they are arranged so that the young music lovers, step by step, learn the basics of classical art. Important is also a balance between foreign and domestic products. If we talk specifically about the hits, the experts and the public are especially fond of ballet Karagöz and the pearl of the Kazakh national opera Abai. Being with all its capabilities a part of the global musical context, the Astana Opera is actively cooperating with other theaters. Astana has been already visited by La Scala, San Carlo, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Academic Ballet Theatre of Boris Eifman, and many others.
