In 2001, the UN General Assembly declared 22 May as the International Day for Biological Diversity.
This commemoration does not create a festive mood for its purpose is to draw attention to endangered species of animals and plants, as well as geographical objects and wildlife reserves which disappear as a result of rampant globalization.
Today 60% of the planet's ecological system is thoughtlessly used by people. This naturally affects the preservation of species. Scientists predict that the situation will be much worse in the next 50 years.
According to the World Conservation Union, the main factors that affect biodiversity are change of habitat, its pollution, desertification, population growth on the planet, misallocation of nature resources.
