Norway is planning to present a part of territory to the Finns
Company «Halti as an anniversary gift» launched at Facebook by 75-year-old retiree of Norwegian community Bjorn Geir Harsson has already received encouragement of the head of Norwegian mapping service and was sincerely accepted in Finland where one of the commentators reported that «it would be gesture that is to be remembered for thousands of years».
The purpose of unusual online-initiative is claimed to be the study of interest of Norwegians to the transportation of its part of mountain as the jubilee gift confined to the anniversary of independence of Finland which is to be celebrated in 2017.
The top of common for two countries fell with the height of 1365 meters is situated at Norwegian side but is not included in the top-200 list of the most highest peaks, however, even one of the lowest spurs, Hálditšohkka (1324 meters) is the highest point in Finland.
In case of acceptance of positive decision the only thing remained is to move the border to 20 meters, moreover, Finland will receive new geographic sight, and Norway will lose only 0,05 square kilometers of the territory.
