In Switzerland the biggest meringue will be created
The first festival Double Cream Festival will take place in Swiss village these weekends. The twist of the holiday will be the attempt to hit a world record of the biggest meringue creation.
The milk toppings Gruyere is the visit card of this area. They are often provided with meringue, the production of which is also widespread in the district Fribourg. The local chocolatier Richard Yuldris explained that organizers of the festival searched for something special for their event, and the most appropriate for the milk toppings is meringue, as The Local reports.
The former record was established in 1986 by Swiss people from the village Meiringen where approximately in 1660s the delicacy known around the world was invented. Then, the masters prepared the meringue in length of 2.4 meters and width of 1.5 meters.
This Sunday the masters from Gruyere will construct the meringue in length of one hundred meters, for such a purpose they need nine confectioners, one thousand eggs, and one hundred kilos of sugar. After the record is identified, the meringue decorated with the milk toppings will be given to the festival’s visitors.
