National museums of Switzerland will become free-of-charge for attendance of citizens of the country and tourists. Such a proposal is offered by Swiss government.
Both tourists and local citizens will get a benefit from the new proposal according to which it is planned to return to the free-of-charge entrance in several Swiss cultural establishment considered as the most popular, including the museums of modern art in Stockholm and Malino, Swiss Museum of Natural History, and Museum of world culture in Gothenburg.
Social Democrats spearheaded by Prime Minister Stefan Löfvén made the similar regulations when ruled the government ten years ago for the last time. However, the admission fee in museums was entered by the central and right-wing authority in 2006.
As the Minister of culture of Switzerland said, the repeated introduction of free-of-charge attendance of museums the government wants to expand the usual audience and acquaint with the art those who rarely visit cultural establishments, as «The Local» reports.
It is expected that museum entrance will become free-of-charge the next year. The full list of establishments appearing in the new regulations includes sixteen museums.
