The founder of band Backstreet Boys died today
The musical producer Lou Pearlman died in USA staying in detention in jail in Texas state. The founder of musical bands Backstreet Boys and NSYNC had appeared behind the bars in 2008 when the court revealed his fraud in the size of 300 million dollars. Then, the producer confirmed that he invested money in his own non-existing enterprises Transcontinental Airlines Travel Services Inc. and Transcontinental Airlines Inc. The stated companies had been existing only on the paper. Moreover, when the case about his bankruptcy was investigated, the producer provided the court with false information what classified as aggravating circumstances while rendition proceeding. Consequently, Lou Pearlman was sentenced to have stayed in prison for 25 years. At the moment of death he was 62 years old.
Concerning the bands founded by him, the participants of musical groups Backstreet Boys and NSYNC several times applied to the court accusing Lou Pearlman in the fact that he had hidden the significant part of wages from them. Nevertheless, the death of producer made some musicians see things in another light. For instance, the former participant of NSYNC wrote in Twitter the following words: ‘Perhaps, he was not a good businessman; however, if it had not been for his influence, I would not do my thing now’.
Lou Pearlman produced bands managing some scheme accepted in show-business. Having found Backstreet Boys in 1993 from the pupils of senior school, he also launched the enterprise Trans Continental Records. The first album of boys-band gained success and, thus, 130 million copies were sold among the audience. Later, the producer made a fortune using the same strategy with band NSYNC.
