The murderer of Lennon for the ninth time was refused in early parole
Upon the results of the meeting 61-year-old Chapman will continue to serve whole-life tariffs in the high-security prison in New York state.
The killer of Lennon has been refused in early parole for the ninth time. He lodged the first petition about parole in 2000. Then, he claimed to appeal commission that he did not constitute a menace for the society. As he said, he also did not suffer from psychological problems that made him kill Lennon anymore.
On the 8-th of December 1980 Chapman four times shot off in the musician coming from limousine. Late in the evening Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono returned from the studio where they worked over the record of the album Walking on Thin Ice.
Several hours before the murder Chapman took photo with Lennon when he had left his signature at the album Double Fantasy. In the course of investigation Chapman told that musician was only ‘face from the cover of the album’ for him.
‘Basing on the conversation with you and analysis of your case we come to conclusion that your parole is not consistent with the benevolence of society, disparages the seriousness of the crime and damages the respect towards law’, it is stated in the decision of commission on the early parole.
The next time Chapman can send application on parole in August, 2018.
