Today, all bikers of the planet celebrate their professional holiday.
This tradition
started in 1992, when in several countries about five thousand enthusiasts,
leaving cars in garages, went to work on motorcycles and scooters. That day was
called – «For work on a motorcycle».
In 1997 the
official website of the World Day of motorcyclists (ridetowork.org)was opened,
which serves fans of the "iron horses" There they can chat, share ideas and
experiences.
Until 2000, all
events were held illegally: it was
enough to indicate the date on the site and negotiate with friends there. Later
came a nonprofit organization Ride To Work Inc., which provides legal and
technical support for motorcyclists in all corners of the planet.
The main
objective of today's celebration to acknowledge the rights of motorcyclists. In
their favor is, for example, that the motorcycle reduces oftraffic jams, do not
require a lot of space for parking and consumes little fuel, and this has a
positive effect on the environment.
