In Portugal the unique park for dogs is to appear

Intrinsically, it is the natural area with the square more than four square kilometers intended for walking, training, and communication of the dogs. True to form, the pets with their owners are invited – not vice versa – organizers promise them complete protection from infringement upon their temporary freedom and walks without muzzles and neck collars.

Jose and Barbara Vieira, the authors of idea and owners of this unique platform for dogs decided to develop the stated project in 2013.

During two years, from times to times they invited the representatives of various Portuguese associations of breeders and owners of the dogs to observe developing object simultaneously clarifying what the owners lack and what they want to see as the final result, as «Russian newspaper» reports.

«Our purpose was to allow any person to take his pet within the territory of the park, spend some time together with the dog, or give a possibility to communicate with each other to the animals. It is great that the huge territory gives a chance to make a choice», - the spouses told to the local journalists.

«We understand, - they emphasized, - that small city squares do not give complete freedom, and dogs are still staying locked up and, in many cases, on a tight leash».

The landscapes, based upon the photos, which impatient owners of the future visitors actively spread through social media, are unique, indeed. The part of the territory is taken by a typical Mediterranean forest; there are open platforms in abundance and several rather flat hills.

Dogs will have enough room to turn, especially as man-made constructions such as special tunnels for hunting dogs and trim trails for tracker dogs’ trainings are built.

The spouses Vieira hope that their intention will suit taste of those who loves active rest with the dog outside. They are planning to make this project non-commercial and give a possibility to pay the keeping the main constructions in a proper form within the territory of the park at the expense of contributions and voluntary work of partial fellow citizens.

It is also expected that the dogs’ park becomes the place of arrangement of actions of different associations on animals’ rights protections, seminars on trainings and events dedicated to the delivery of abandoned canine companions in the hands of new owners.
