On the 23-rd of August in Ukraine it is celebrated the Day of national flag. Today at each government facility it is customary to show Ukrainian flag grandly.
This holiday is established in August, 2004 by Decree of the second president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma to doff cap to the centuries-long history of foundation of Ukrainian state, national symbols of independent Ukraine. The concept of holiday is made with the purpose of respectful attitude of citizens to the state Ukrainian symbols. It is celebrated on the 23-rd of July.
According to the paragraph 20 of Ukrainian Constitution, “the state symbols of Ukraine are State Flag of Ukraine, State Emblem of Ukraine and State Hymn of Ukraine. State Flag of Ukraine is made from two equal horizontal stripes of blue and yellow colours”.
