The National Bank approved the rules for rounding the amount in a check in cash

Coins of small denominations will not be withdrawn from circulation. They will continue to be in circulation and used as a means of payment. At the same time, from July 1, cash circulation will not be replenished with the indicated denominations of coins.

According to the NBU, the relevant norms are stipulated by the NBU Board Resolution No. 25 of the 15-th of March 2018 "On optimizing the circulation of small denomination coins".

According to the decree, from the 1-st of July 2018, in the absence of coins with denominations of 1, 2, 5 and 25 kopecks, trade and service enterprises can round off the checks in cash in the amount of 1 to 4 kopecks or aside increase - for a sum of 5 to 9 cents.

"The National Bank of Ukraine expects that the rounding rules will be applied fairly and transparently for both parties to the calculations," the report said. At the same time, round-offs will not be conducted with non-cash settlements.
