In China International Ice Festival is being celebrated
The snowy sculptures, shining ice statues and buildings, fireworks and winter entertainments make Harbin one of the most popular places in Chine in winter. There are also people fond of skating and skiing, and more marvelous thing is winter swimming in Songhua River, the bloodcurdling sight for tourists.
International Ice Festival in Harbin is one of four world festivals of ice considered as the greatest in the world, such as Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan, Canada's Quebec City Winter Carnival, and Norway's Holmenkollen Ski Festival.
The annual festival starts on the 5-th of January and lasts till the end of February (if the weather allows). During the festival people from all over the world, participate in different visual, cultural, sport, and special traveling events.
The main occasions of the festival include the exhibition of snowy sculptures, ice lantern show and garden party, ski competition, football match held on the snow, skating festival, ice motor rally, theatre performance, and others. Do not miss this wonderful winter holiday!
