Volunteers from USA saved 200 dogs at beef-producing farm in Korea
Dozens of golden retrievers, Syberian husky, Rottweiler, Japanese mastiff, and Korean Jindo Dogs were contained in cages. When animals were released, the activists of organization ‘Humane Society International’ put them in the carriers so as to move animals to USA and Canada by planes. Upon arrival, the dogs will be sent in the animal shelters.
As the owner of farm Gong In-Young reported, he sold several hundreds of dogs in a year, and, in terms of their sizes, he received at least 200 dollars per each one.
According to the information of the edition, in Southern Korea every year people eat meat of gods numbered from 1.5 million to 2.5 million. Meanwhile, farm industry of the stated segment is in decay because young generation of the citizens of country does not want to consume dog meat.
The dog meat is traditionally used in Korean cuisine. The first mentioning of dog meat in this country relates to 57 year BC. The product is also used in culinary purposes in China, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Indonesia, East Timor, Ghana, and Nigeria.
