Classic works created by the famous British artist and children writer Quentin Blake as well as pictures painted by English rock-musician Erik Clapton, the composer of electronic music Brian Eno, and Scottish actor Peter Capaldi are put for the sales on the 7-th of December. The organizers of the stated event are planning to collect money for the further functioning of London gallery.

The autobiographic sketches of Brian Eno, Erik Clapton and Peter Capaldi are not the only ones at the auction. The exhibition united more than forty original illustrations targeted at the collection of financial expenditures for the gallery created by Quentin Blake. Apart from the aforementioned celebrities, on the 13-th of December the designer Paul Smith and artist David Shrigley are going to deal with the sale of the pictures in London so as to support materially the House of Illustrations located in London. It is the only public gallery where it is permitted to place the pictures of young artists and still unknown talents.

Among the pictures that are to cause the greatest interest of the public there was illustration to the second part of British TV-serial ‘Doctor Who’ named as ‘Into the Dalek’ where Capaldi played. Creating the series of illustrations to the script of the series, Capaldi proved not to have forgotten what he was taught in Glasgow School of Art. The stated picture is estimated at £3,000. Quentin Blake brought to the auction several works gaining success that include original illustrations for the children book of Royald Dahl ‘BFG’ (reductively ‘Big Friendly Giant’) and edition of the writer Enid Blyton ‘Five on Treasure Island’. It is expected that they could succeed in selling the picture for the amount of money exceeding the estimated cost at £3,000, because of the significant interest to the activity of Dahl and Blyton.
