Rome exhibits before the public Mussolini’s storage hoppers
In total, at the Villa Torlonia, official Roman residence of Italian dictator, three haunts are situated. The first storage was built in 1940 not far away from the villa. The hopper is standing at the depth of 4 meters and has a square nearly 80 square meters.
Building was equipped with the aeration system, electric power generator, two escape routes, and doubled-up doors in case of toxic gas attack. However, Mussolini was dissatisfied with the location, thus it was decided to build the second storage, under villa, as it is reported by La Vanguardia.
Hopper was built taking into consideration the recent achievement in the scope of technology and safety precautions of the time. It is regarded that mainly duce used them. There was also third storage, the building of which had not been finished.
Visiting storage hoppers, you may as well get familiar with the photos and documents which tell about duce’s family. At the exhibition even extracts of Mussolini’s diary are presented.
In opinion of local authorities, the stated landmark will commemorate about one of the most terrible pages of Italian history.
