In Europe the bumblebees appeared under the danger of extinction

The growth of temperature compels the insects from the bloodline of true bees leave usual areas; however, the bumblebees do not fly towards North in search of bigger coolness – the reason is not understood yet, as the biologists in the article for «Science» write.

The investigation summarized more than 423 thousand observations for 67 types of bumblebees having been made since 1901. As it appeared, southern border of inhabitation of the insects moved to nearly 300 kilometers to North. At the same time, the northern borderline remained; in total the habitat of insects dreadfully decreased.

Biologists made a suggestion that the bumblebees bear heat worse than, for instance, butterflies. The first ones were formed not in tropical regions, apart from the last ones, but in variable zone. The scientists suspected that in the North bumblebees lack necessary plants or colonies of insects are too small to settle down at the new location.

The investigators call for help – in their opinion, people should help the bumblebees to survive in climatic difficulties and not to disappear from the face of the earth. The biologists explained that humans need to set the favorite plants of these insects – raspberry, spurge, and melissa.
