The first museum of perfumery and aromas «Múses» opened on the 27-th of September, 2015 in Savigliano (Turin); it is the unique place where one may immerse into the history of perfumes’ creation displaying all its landmarks – from the ancient art of cologne water production to the modern ways of sensory analysis, as well as get familiar with the types of aromas conducting the tours on the paths of species and herbs.
The museum is located on two floors of the castle Taffini d’Acceglio (the constructions of the seventeenth century in a period of supremacy of Savoy dynasty in Savigliano): apart from the expositions museum includes eighteen multifunctional investigating stations used for the sensory analysis and allowing observing the mechanism of perfumes’ creation.
In museum there are a hall of video installations, a hall of instruments revealing the mysteries of perfumers having creating during the centuries, the hall of medicinal and aromatic herbs.
In the nearest months, museum intends to starts the organization of seminars discovering the issues of the essential oils production methods intended not only for the visitors but also for practicing perfumers. Since October, the programs are to be arranged dedicated to the recognition of the perfumes and ointment’s essence, as well as the courses reflecting how to deal with species and food supplements.
